New Ramps in Cottons Park
If you are interested in urban sports then you will be glad to know that since May 2008 Cottons Park has new Skate Board and BMX Ramps. A group of young people have been working with the Youth Service, Cottons Park and local Police to raise money for the new ramps, so that as many young people as possible in Romford can use this cool and exciting park for free on a regular basis.

Over the summer, the Youth Service worked with Team Extreme to provide BMX and Skate Board competitions, as well as top class coaching from former world champion riders. Over the next year Team Extreme may continue to work with the Youth Service by providing a range of activities for Riders and Skaters to enjoy.

If you are interested in finding out more about Cottons Skate Park or urban sports in general, then please call the Youth Service on 01708 340161 or 07947257562. Or If you have any ideas about skate parks or urban sports then post a note on this website’s chat forum or suggestion box.

We look forward to hearing from you soon!

Riders in Romford
A group of young people known as the ‘Romford Riders’ have recently benefited from a range of youth services - such as weekends away, day trips and riding activities. The group applied for £3,000 worth of riding gear through the Youth Opportunity Funds and received top quality riding helmets, body armour, gloves, shin guards and elbow pads. Some of the riders recently went on a trip to Liverpool to ride in the biggest indoor skate park called ‘RampworX’.

If you have any ideas about skate parks or urban sports in general, or would like more information, either phone one of our above numbers or post a note on this website’s chat forum. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
