Who
are Connexions?
Connexions is the national support service for all young people aged 13 - 19 years (up to 25 with learning difficulties and disabilities). We can offer a range of advice and guidance to young people to help them make a smooth transition into adulthood.
We are aware that parents and carers are the single biggest influence on the decisions young people make about their future, so it is important to us that you are aware of the help we can offer young people.
How can we help?
All young people can meet with a adviser who can offer them practical support, advice and guidance
on a range of issues.
We can be found in centres across the borough, schools, colleges and variety of youth projects and settings.
Who do we work with?
Our partners may be schools or colleges, training providers, employers or specialist agencies. For example, we work closely with:
- Social Services and Housing departments in the local authority as well as the Leaving Care Team
- Youth Offending Service
- Schools and Colleges
- Training Providers, employers and Havering Business Education Partnership
- Benefits Agencies including Job Centre, Job Centreplus and Child Benefit Agency (See link to Personal Advisers for more information).
- Health and other medical professionals who work with young people
- Counselling agencies and other support services for young people.
