Cottons Park, Romford
In 2008, a new Skate Park was built in Cottons Park,
thanks to the hard work of local youth. A year later,
this group of young people worked with the Integrated
Youth Services to extend the park, by raising funds
from Youth Capital Funds and Veolia Cleanaway.
The
skate park now consists of half pipes, quarter
pipes, a volcano, a mini ramp and lots of other skate
park
elements.
Even though accessible to skate
boarders, the park is used predominately by BMX’rs.
During
school holidays, the Integrated Youth Services provides
a range of urban sports competitions and workshops,
and its Yellow Truck is present at weekends.

Brittons Park, Rainham
In 2009, the Council’s Parks and Open Spaces
Service, raised funds to build a concrete skate park
in Rainham. The Integrated Youth Services teamed up
with this service to design and develop the skate park,
with support of a group of young people from Rainham.
This
group was involved in the research and planning of
the project and as a result, a concrete skate
park was opened in
April 2010.
The park is primarily for skate boarders,
but other urban sports users are welcome
to use this great facility.
